Ava and Kinly

Ava and Jamis niece, Kinly, are a year apart and i thought it would be fun to have a sleepover with them both. We got pizza, bought yummy cupcakes, painted nails, watched a movie, and they had tons of fun jumping onto the bean bag. The next morning Ava and I ran to the store for donuts and she wanted to wear a wig. She got a lot of comments and a worker there thought it was real. (well, yes of course lets dye a 5 year olds hair black with purple and green streaks.) Then we all painted rocks like ladybugs and one butterfly. Later on when i took Ava home she showed me her new bike
and how great of a rider she is.

Grandpa's 3rd Annual Puppet Show

Every Monday in October I had the opportunity
to help my Grandpa with his puppet show.
This year it was "The Wizard of Oz" with a twist and a good lesson. I love how excited and dedicated my Grandpa gets about his shows.

I enjoyed spending my Monday nights there!

Also, I enjoyed some play time at the park with Jer and his kidos

1 night camping trip with Taylor, Brock, and Jami

Jami really wanted to go camping and the rest of us just tagged along and in the end we were glad we did. It was a fun 24 hours! We set up camp by this random rock all the way out past Tooele. We ate tin foil dinners, relaxed by the fire, played cards in the tent, and then went to Denny's the next morning.

This was a special weekend for the Gerber's so the Hansen's and my Mom and Lane came into town. I was in charge of babysitting while the adults went to the Temple for the Gerber's endowments. However, Callie and I switched cars which had my house key on it. So when I showed up to my house with 5 little ones we were locked out. I felt so dumb and helpless. We waited outside for half an hour until my roommate could come let us in. We watched a movie, ate snacks, played, and danced. And my friend, Jami, was nice enough to come help out for little while. Afterward we all went out to Cafe Rio.

I headed up to Logan for the evening to attend my friend, Jerad's reception. Then afterward I stopped to say hi to my previous roommate, Becca, who is getting married next weekend and i won't be able to attend :( And it's always fun to play with Jess. I'm glad she tagged a longed with me. We ended the night up on campus where they closed down the street for a free concert by "The Rocket Summer."

we went to a free concert at the Gallivan Center which was hosted by "Fight the New Drug". its an organization that i love and completely agree with- which deals with pornography.

4 bands performed and we knew two of them- Allred and Parachute. i have seen Allred numerous times and was excited to see Parachute for the first time.

these videos aren't the best quality since we were right by the speaker but, oh well, i can at least understand them. these 2 songs are my favorite by Parachute.

the hike up was steep and kicked my butt. however, inside the cave i was a champ. there certainly were some slick, tricky, and tight spots.

it was a great crazy cave experience!

(i had to take a picture in front of the pyramid and sphinx since i've actually seen them in person. and come on people the sphinx is not even a 1/4 of the size of a pyramid)

later that night a group of us headed down for a hike in spanish fork canyon to some hot springs.

i met Callie and Raylie at out patient surgery. Raylie is tongue tied so the 18th was the day she got it snipped. it was sad and so cute to see a little baby in a hospital gown. then today Callie and i had fun planting a garden in her back yard. hopefully our plants grow wonderfully!

today was my grandpas funeral

it was a great day spent remembering my grandfather. i have had a hard time and today i was at peace and
held things together.

-i put together a gum display for guests to take a pack of gum to remember my grandpa by
-the VFW came out: gun salute, "Taps" was played, and folding and presenting the flag to my grandma.

Viola Harrison and George Thomas Adams.
He is the eldest of 3 with sisters, Carma and Carol

-He was in the Coast Guard during World War ll

-He met my Grandma, Wilma, while attending BYU
and will be married 63 years in October

-He taught 5th and 6th graders for 33 years

-He worked 35 years with the U.S. Forest Service

-During retirement we was very involved with the Senior Kiwanis Club of Orem

Together they have 4 sons, 18 grandchildren,
and 15 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way

My grandpa loved life, the church, and his FAMILY

Some Key Memories:

-Attending BYU Football games with just he and I

-Driving around and collecting aluminum cans to be recycled, which he would then donate the money he earned into his grandkids saving accounts.

-Visiting him at the Snack Shack to get candy and snowcones.

-He was always the one who would wash the dishes after dinner. also, my place at the table while growing up was on a stool between my dad and him.

-He gave the best backrubs!

-Crawling in bed with my Grandma and him when i was scared at night.

-The FAMOUS candy bowl in the cupboard stocked with goodies especially Wrigley's Gum

-He was a great whistler, while driving around he would just whistle away~ i loved it!

-He loves kids and would always light up when they were around.

-my last great memory was sitting on his bed while holding his hand at the hospital where for the first time in years he really conversed with me. (my grandpa has had dementia for quite awhile and hasn't been his usual self) He passed away three days later.

It was a wonderful and special day that my family and I got
to spend with my Grandpa a few days before he passed
and very fitting that it was Easter Sunday.
That day he was wide awake and talking a ton.

some things he spoke about were:

about Heaven: "I'll go prepare some stuff and tell them the Adams clan is here. Look out! We know what they did down here, we'll see what it's like up there." "New way of life, work on those that aren't LDS up there." "Heaven look out! I'll soon be coming. Stir 'em up a bit!"

about Grandma: "She's been good. I think I'll keep her awhile."

about my Uncle Ron who passed away 3 weeks prior to the day of my Grandpa:"I'm going to kick his butt. Play a trick like that and go ahead of me."

to the Grandkids: "Behave, be honest, courteous and kind, and find some snotty ones and beat them up.
Peace is the thing to be."

"When we're all gone and you guys are alive get together for a gabbing session."

what a beautiful family!

my Uncle Ron was such a genuine person. he truly cared about people and what was going on in their lives. i loved that he would read my blog and leave comments. i remember one time being at my Grandmas house when he called- she hollered down to me to get on the phone to talk to him- i was worried, i thought, oh great this is going to be awkward. however, it wasn't at all. it was comfortable and normal. i love that about him. it was so natural. he loved his family. my sister, callie, had the chance to spend a couple days in Arizona with his wife, Kris, and him. she would tell me how prepared and excited he was for his little granddaughter to visit. my Uncle Ron is a great man- we will miss you greatly!

my Aunt Carma, who is my grandpas sister, passed away on April 12th

she was such a sweet loving person!

-we had the burial services in Orem on the 16th- as well as my Aunt Carma's up in Salt Lake

we stopped by for a quick photo at the St. George temple then headed to Vegas. Jami did temple sealings while i relaxed and read on the temple grounds. we shopped and strolled the strip until the early evening. we woke up the next morning and headed back to Salt Lake.

Britni and Brian flew in for about 30 hours to attend Sam and Jamie's Wedding. i met up with them, the Gerber's, my dad, Ava, Erin, and Brennan at Cafe Rio. the Hansen's can't come to town without going since Seattle doesn't have one.

i planned a small surprise baby shower for Britni. we headed up to the grooms room for a quick 15 minutes for Britni to open presents. i got her a "it's a boy" balloon along with blue candy which i attached "it's a boy" rattles to. and if you can't tell the Hansen's are excited for a baby boy- just look at each of them enjoying Brennan.

one day i will get my trip all blogged (its a slow process) but for now here is how i spent my last 24 hours

Ava and i had a ton of fun! and i guess i kind of spoiled her but hey I'm her aunt- i can do that every once in a while. Ava really enjoyed getting to wear glasses for the movie and was excited to take them home to show her mom and dad. she wanted to sleep in her sleeping bag which i thought was silly. however, i got her all snuggled in there but then she couldn't sleep so in the end she slept in the big bed. we even had donuts and hot chocolate for breakfast. before we headed to her house we drove up the street to the temple. while we drove in the car she was telling me jokes. Ava sure is a cutie!!!

we had fun bowling tonight- we played 3 games. i did fabulously the first game and got over 100 points! Jami decided to stap poor Mikes heart and BrieAnn and i had the same pants and we both gott the best bowling shoes. we played spades and ate at IHOP as well.

last day of work

it was a GREAT last day which made it harder to leave. the boys didn't have school today so we were all able to chill and chat. my boss bought us pizza from Pizza Hut and the staff wrote me a nice card. and i finally announced to the boys i was leaving. my boss had all the boys say something they liked about me or something they will remember- it was super sweet. then when it was time to head out the door some boys were trying to get hugs so i ended up giving some side hugs. it was another bitter sweet departure. i will miss these guys.

my good friend, Coon (Michael), who i met my freshmen year of college got married in the San Diego temple a couple weeks ago and tonight they had their reception in Utah.

Coon and Jocelyn are super cute!

i was able to meet up with 2 of my freshmen roomies there. Leoh and her husband, Conrad, came down from Idaho and Jess came from Logan. i love that it felt so natural with these ladies- i see and talk to Jess but Leoh- I hadn't seen for almost 2 years. it felt like nothing had changed and we were 18 again.
i sure love these people!

-next we headed to Bethlehem where we arrived just as the sun was setting. this was an interesting experience since Bethlehem is controlled by the Palestinians. we had to drop off our Israeli guide because Isrealis are not allowed in and a Palestinian guard walked through our bus holding a gun.

-Church of the Nativity where we can see the orginal flooring and Brian stands infront of the entrance where if you look closely you can see 3 doors, one on top of the other, that shows the changes over time.

-our big group cramped into one of the caves where we sang Christmas Carols. and within these caves Christ was born.

-arrive in Jerusalem to stay at the Olive Tree Hotel.

we went to Nazareth and took a tour of what the town would have looked like and how it would have worked back in the day.

that evening we went on a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee where Christ walked on the water. we then ended the night by sidewalk shopping.

we started off our morning bright and early.
i really liked the design of our hotel- it was pretty sweet

the walk down was nice, however, the walk back up was a bit miserable at times since the last leg of the walk has no shade cover what so ever. the sun was out and was determined to torcher us.

Montana was only an extra hour total drive and since i had never been Callie and Raylie agreed to take a drive with me. my time there only lasted long enough for a picture but now i can say I've been there.

all i have to say about this day is i hated my horse! the thing that really pushed my buttons was when we were headed back down the trail, the horse started walking into the trees- my vest even got stuck and i had to leave it there- the guide had to go back and get it. then my brother was nice and switched me horses. not a fun horse ride.

i was able to switch around my work schedule so that i could go camping for Labor Day weekend. i worked a half day on Friday and got Monday off. Callie waited around for me to get off work and then we headed on our drive to Jackson Hole with Raylie. we headed straight to the famous Bar J for food and entertainment!

RAY DAY!!!

my brother-in-law, Rayson, got baptized today by his brother, Larry. and if you look at the program- that's right, my name is on it. Rayson asked me to give a talk on baptism. i was hesitant to accept at first. i believe it went well and i even looked up while speaking but only looked at Rayson. Tons of family and friends showed up to support him. the next day Rayson was confirmed in church.

Rayson and I weren't able to go camping, however, we were able to make it up for dinner one night. it was a fun little trip as well as a bit chilly. thanks for taking me up Rayson.

I went to Nephi for a picnic celebration for my Grandparents birthdays which are both in August. it was great to see them!- i see them even less now that they are living in Nephi. that night i went to the African Restaurant for dinner in Salt Lake before heading to the Broadway show of "The Lion King."

work adventure

at work today we took some of the kids out on an outing up to Snowbird. we enjoyed a hike and going down the alpine slide. right when were leaving it started pouring and hailing. as my co-worker was pulling out, the vans 2 back wheels went over the edge- the picture doesn't show it good but it was maybe an 8 inch or more drop off. so there we are with it hailing and stuck. i took one of the kids jacket to go get help. by the end i was soaked to the bone. it was quite the fun little adventure.

it was my mamas birthday today! i made her banana cream pie (which i hope was good since i don't enjoy fruit pies) and gave her the dvd that i had planned since December. i grew up with my mom renting this movie in October for Halloween. now she can finally have her own copy and maybe she will let me borrow it.

i bid farewell to my Washington Loveys!!!

thanks for letting me come play D & T- i enjoyed picking out your clothes, doing your hair, having picnics, tucking you in at night, playing house, watching movies, painting your nails and toes- i just loved every minute of it! ps- thanks for sharing your mama.

i was having Callie pick me up from the airport and she was just supposed to meet me at the curb.

instead i walk out of security to see Rayson, Raylie, and Callie standing there holding a sign, flowers, and a balloon. embarrassing!
luckily Callie didn't remember to snap a picture while in the airport.

one last outing before i head out tomorrow

we met up with Brian after work at Picnic Point which is maybe 15-20 min away from their house. we grilled hamburgers and played in the water.

it was bit windy, cool, cloudy, and rainy at the end but still fun. right after the swing picture was taken Tes face planted. Brit and i wondered why and if she got anything on camera. this picture shows exactly why Tes fell off- she wasn't holding on anymore.

- do you like Dalias pretty outfit- she picked it out herself! and may i add that i found her headband and gave it to Callie as a joke for Raylie. Callie ended up giving it to Brit and Dalia loves it. i personally think it is ugly.

the main reason i went to Seattle was to watch my nieces while Britni and Brian went on a church outing for a few days. for the first day the weather was great and then rainy and a bit chilly for the rest. i don't take a lot of pictures anymore and rarely carry my camera so these are the only pics i took while they were away.

I've been to Seattle varies times so when i got into town Britni and her girls took me to some spots I'd never been to before.

we went to this great look out of the city with a fun playground for the girls. also, there is this random sweet troll underneath a freeway.

then a picnic at Gas Works Park (where they filmed the paint balloon fight in 10 things i hate about you) which also had another great view of Seattle.

Yea! Heidi got home from her mission to Texas. i started off the morning attending my friends homecoming. it was great to see her as well as Mandy, Christie, and Ben.

Beautiful Raylie Ann was blessed today by her Grandpa A. it was also great to see my grandparents who came up with my uncle from Nephi.

Britni and her girls came into town for 2 weeks!
i wasn't able to participate in most of the fun they were having since i've been working way too much. however, i met up with the gang when i could.
